Biometrics and Digital Certificates

The Collaborator Platform enforce authentication of locally connected users before access is granted to the application. The Collaborator Platform enforce authentication to both the system network and the application for remote users. The Collaborator Platform enforce system components (particularly servers) to use strong authentication amongst each other, i.e. in a distributed computing environment each system component that is designed to either exchange or process information amongst each other to use strong authentication prior to participation in the system.

The Collaborator Platform provide pass-through authentication to users connecting via a “proxy” method. The Collaborator Platform maintain proof of origin (authenticity) and proof of receipt of a message (non-repudiation) through digital signature, i.e. for messaging the originator must be able to digitally sign a message using his/her personal credentials (certificate) prior to transmission of the message and the recipient must be able to verify such digital signature after the message has been received, and the originator must be able to prove that a message was received by the intended recipient(s) by receiving a digitally signed receipt; stored documents in the repository must be digitally signed by the author/originator to proof authenticity of document.

The Collaborator Platform prompt users to identify themselves. The Collaborator Platform offer different ways of identification. The Collaborator Platform support multi-factor authentication. The Collaborator Platform store enrolment images and information on a database. The solution ODBC-compliant

The Collaborator Platform require a database. The Collaborator Platform interface with PKI-based electronic signature technologies. The Collaborator Platform integrate with and support directory services for access rights. The Collaborator Platform provide encryption functionalities with separate key management.

The Collaborator Platform provide audit trail information for the following:

  • List actions captured

  • List fields captured

The audit trail information stored separate from the application data. The Collaborator Platform store the image, transaction identifier and verification result on a database. The Collaborator Platform provide a menu driven administration system. The Collaborator Platform provide a dual user sign-on for database administration. The Collaborator Platform have a solution modelling environment (SDK Equivalent). The Collaborator Platform provide administrator alerts. The Collaborator Platform facilitate centralised administration. The Collaborator Platform require a dedicated server.

Biometrics

The Collaborator Platform provide biometric authentication accessing and processing forms. The Collaborator Platform provide a single sign-on facility. The verification for access from a workstation session stored on the workstation. The Collaborator Platform provide application access verification. The Collaborator Platform provide transaction verification. The Collaborator Platform provide document or folder access verification.

The Collaborator Platform support multi-factor authentication:

  • Something You Are (Biometric)

  • Something You Know (Password)

  • Something You Have (Mobile OTP)

The Collaborator Platform support SAGE biometric devices. The Collaborator Platform support SAGE biometric types. The Collaborator Platform provide load-balancing functionality.

Digital Signatures & Certificates

The solution capable of configuring the extent to which information about the authentication process is stored to retain:

  • The fact of successful authentication only with the record

  • Information about the authentication process with the record

  • All authentication data, including certificates, with the record

The solution able to retain and preserve information about the process of verification for an electronic signature by means of an electronic certificate, including either or both:

  • The Certification Authority with which the signature has been validated

  • The date and time of validation

The solution able to store with the electronic record:

  • The digital signature associated with that record

  • The digital certificate verifying the signature

  • Any confirming signatures appended by the certification authority in such a way that they are capable of being retrieved in conjunction with the record, and without prejudicing the integrity of a private key

The Collaborator Platform check the validity of a digital signature at the time of declaration of the record. The solution capable of demonstrating the continued integrity of an electronically signed record, even though allowable changes have been made to the metadata for that record (but not to the content). The solution capable of applying an electronic signature to a record, or folder of records, during the process of export, in such a way that the signature can be validated externally to the solution.

Digital Signing (e-Signatures)

The Collaborator Platform retain a set of e-signatures. The Collaborator Platform allow user selection of the required digital signing format (e.g. graphical signature vs. printed name). The solution restricts the use of e-signatures. The Collaborator Platform allow multiple e-signatures for one e-form or document. The Collaborator Platform automatically attach/append the same e-signature on each document in a document set. The Collaborator Platform associate e-signatures to all documents in a folder. The solution restricts e-signatures to documents in a folder. The Collaborator Platform attach/append e-signatures to an e-form/document. The solution associate new e-signatures with a folder. The Collaborator Platform designate a primary e-signature for a folder. The Collaborator Platform disassociate an e-signature from a folder.

The solution set an expiration date on the use of an e-signature. The Collaborator Platform retain a copy of a signed e-form as a non-modifiable document. The Collaborator Platform provide an option to embed an e-signature into a document. The Collaborator Platform prevent modification of an e-signature. Will the solution allow an e-signature to be superseded by a custodian or authorised users on behalf of the custodian. The Collaborator Platform restrict use of an e-signature to the custodian of the signature or authorised users on behalf of the custodian.
